Auf Wunsch zahlreicher internationaler Gäste der an diesem Wochenende stattfindenden Clubschau der Leonberger Hunde findet diese Führung zum Großteil auch in englischer Sprache statt.
On Saturday, 28th September, Gerd Jenner will guide you through Leonberg: Leonberg’s main attraction ist not made of stone, wood or plaster, but is very much alive. The Leonberger dog helped its hometown to international fame. Leonberg became something like the dog capital of Germany in the 19th century, thanks to Heinrich Essig, a town counsillor who bred the Leonberger dog race in 1846. The tour will give a closer look into this century, the breeders life and his town. It will lead through narrow medieval streets as well as wider modern streets of Heinrich Essig’s era.
